Time to take the plunge...... (advice welcome)

So, I have had a couple of Freelanders, now got 2011 Freelander 2. However, always wanted a Range Rover Sport and so the time is nigh... I have a budget of £19k but could do £20k if my wife isn't looking and want something in the 2007-2009 bracket, preferably HSE, preferably v8, preferably <60k on the clock. I have a test drive booked on one this week, but it's a v6.

I would be very grateful for advice on what to look out for, potential pit-falls etc. I have been told I shouldn't be so hung up on mileage but I'm not sure and aside from the V6 being (slightly) more fuel efficient is there much difference in one over the other?
