Hi all,

I'm looking to turn this hefty metal cradle into a trailer:

Overall weight is 2 tons and the outside width of the frame longitudinals is 1465mm.

As Indespension is stupidly expensive, my idea is to use a pair of Sankey axles under the centre of gravity.

Please can someone tell me the width from spring mount to spring mount of a wide-track axle tube? Also, what is the overall weight rating of a single axle? Do they use standard LR leaf springs or are they special trailer springs? I take it the brakes are cable operated?

thanks,

Unlucky.
Sankeys are rated to 750kgs.
Like all army stuff, a 750kg trailer means a 750kg payload not including the weight of its body and chassis. How much does an unladen sankey weigh?

What's an arrows trailer by the way?
