Hi after much deliberation I bought a Defender..I just tried to insure it and since they are very nickable was perturbed to hear it would not be covered for theft without an immobiliser..??? what counts as an immobiliser ..does it have to be electronic ...freaks me out some local boy playing with me wires!

Just insured it with A Flux who said it had factory fitted alarm immobiliser ? they knew more than I did. terrified now, will have to get a pit bull in the back.

Thanks...on the subject of UK people being obsessed with the cheapest.....good for you if you have deep pockets mate, the last thing I joined the forum for was shopping advice.

Well if that's your attitude I hope the fker gets nicked.
A**** F*** are ste, and although it may require "deep" pockets to shop elsewhere, it's not nearly as deep as the pockets you'll need when you try to make a claim and discover F*** have decided you're not quite as covered as you thought you were after all (which seems to be a common complaint against them)
If you're genuinely worried about it getting nicked, bargain basement insurance really isn't the way to go. You need good cover, not cheap cover.
You mum know you are on her computer ?
