Hi,

I test drove both the FFRR and Sport this morning and have settled on the FFRR. My question is whether I should bother buying used, there doesn't seem to be any significant price difference, or have I got this wrong? I find the options on used stock on the dealers websites difficult to price.

I'm happy to buy new and wait, though if anyone knows of a nearly new/cancelled order in Mariana black or Loire blue / ebony/ivory with either ebony or ivory seats let me know!

if you buy about 18months old you will save about 20%

and you could get extra's such as panoramic roof/side steps for virtually no more money

I found my perfect L405 that had both steps and panoramic roof and saved slightly over 20%

unfortunately, buying second-hand if you want colours other than black you will vastly limited in choice
Thanks chaps.

My local dealer does have a 14 plate, fully specced vogue se in blue with the light interior, and as you say, a load of extras I'd not normally order due to the expense, yours for 84k vs over 95k new, 15000 mls.

The problem is when I spec up my ideal car it only comes out at 75k and I can't find an L405 for under 70k! It seems the deals to be had are on very high spec models. Also most have the 21/22 inch wheels, I want the 20's, and they all have privacy glass, not my scene...

So my minds made up, barring a last minute cancelled order coming my way I'll be ordering a new one before the new year.

if you have 'built' your ideal new car for £75K new then its going to be a pretty basic 3.0L

with extra's you need to think resale in the future - people buying these cars want all the 'bells and whistles'

21" wheels are highly desirable - I have just removed my 20" wheels and fitted 21" Autobiography wheels and tyres that had covered 22 miles from new (the guy selling was having 23" wheels fitted)

when I negotiated buying my car from the main dealer rather than a minimal discount I opted for extra's including rear privacy glass

for me the privacy glass is essential as I need to keep expensive fishing gear and guns out of public view!!

Point taken but the 'basic' spec suits me well. I tend to keep cars for 4/5 years, have two young kids and park on the street, re-sale is less of a concern!

was at main dealer this morning and they have a 2013 Vogue SE for sale - 20K miles and 21" Autobiography wheels/panoramic roof/adaptive Xenon's and all the other bits for £69K

and its the 4.4L V8 in black with ebony/ivory interior

I had a good look and its pristine

Interesting, could you let me know which dealer/group? Sounds like a very good deal, less keen on the black though...

Gordon Lamb - Chesterfield

they have maintained my 'old' L322 and will look after my 'new' L405

tried other dealerships in the East Midlands and they are in a different league
Great, many thanks.
