I bought an extra years warranty last year as my RRS will be 4 yrs old this May, it is coming up for renewal at around £740 +, my car now has just covered 40k and is used as a 2nd car hence the low mileage.

Does anyone else buy into the additional warranty each year after the standard warranty expires or just ignore it.

Irrespective of what you hear and read I have had various RR ever since my first one back in 72 and have been mainly trouble free, but now realise that cars are all about electronic gizmos which could be more problematic.

Would be interested to see what others do.

I guess there is an element of the LR product being easy to manage.
You drop the car off at LR dealer, they complete the work and then bill the warranty company direct.

I'm not saying that's not the case with warranty direct, but some dealers might not be so obliging in regards to settling direct with the insurance company, which means you have to pay and claim back later.

In regards to wear and tear with LR product, I was surprised they covered wheel bearings, as that would be deemed as wear an tear in my book, but at 70k miles and 5 years old, the LR branded extended warranty did cover them.
I have a friend of mine who also has a RRS and has the LR Warranty and he has had some unusual claims on his policy but they have always paid up.
Funnily enough Warranty Direct were the first to contact me when the original LR Warranty was coming to its end date.
