So, i had this 'Tank slap' noise for a while, and just turned up the volume to disguise it on my RRS.
Read about the optoin to take it in and get it sorted on this forum, as its a fault and can be rectified.
Took it to local Stratstone Landrover
They said yes we'll book it in, and whilst its there, we'll check the tyre warning indicator and the Valet menu on the media system, as its due for an update and recall under warranty. Would you like a loan car sir? As we will need it for two days min. Ok thanks. So far so good.

Took it in Tuesday, got their Freelander as a loan (ug) and off I went to work.
Then Wednesday lunch, Steve rings me ot say they have finished the work, thats the good news. 'Good news?' I ask.

Er Yes Sir, whilst the diagnostics were working on the car, in the front passenger seat, using their 'laptop' for want of a better word, then sort of, er, scratched your car door.

Uh? How could you do that with a laptop?

Oh, sorry sir, I meant the Trolley that they wheel the diagnotics machine about on, sort of rolled into the rear door and scratched it to the metal.

Dont worry sir, we'll got it booked in at the bodyshop 20 miles away for a repair and respray to put it right, I'm awfully sorry and we'll have it ready by Friday.

I was shocked to say the least, and mentioned that the car was in pristine condition and it had better come back like that too. I take great pride in my cars and dont want some half arsed job doing that will show in streetlight two months later. Also I had had the whole car diamond waxed or whatever, so they can do that again.

Not happy, and not happy about the incompetence of a 'technician' flailing about on a heavy trolley in an expensive vehicle area.

For now ill give them the benefir of the doubt until I see the car on Saturday.

Has anyone else had a problem similar to this whereby something simple turns out not to be so because of a simpleton??

Watch this space.....
