Hello
I have a Range Rover Sport, but I'm thinking of changing to an Evoque but this time on a leasing contract. I've never leased before and wondered if anyone else who does could let me know how they've got on please. Has it worked well for you? Who is a good company to use or who is not a good company to use? And would you mind sharing your figures with me... Which model? Monthly payments? Initial payment? Equity at the end of the contract? Any advice is gratefully received, thank you smile

Thanks Triple7. I'm new to the idea of leasing/PCP and trying to work out the pros and cons of both, but I think you are right that PCP is the better option for me. It works out at slightly higher monthly payments, but the benefits seem to outweigh those of leasing.

My local dealer is offering this: I pay £2k up front, they pay £1.5k then 35 payments of around £600 per month, give or take (which includes servicing), there should be a few thousand in equity at the end to use as deposit for the next one. Does that sound reasonable? That's for the Dynamic HSE, available in September.

Hi Triple7

Firstly, I haven't been on Pistonheads for yonks, but your handle is familiar, did you by chance know my late husband, Laurie Brown? He had a Jaguar S-Type-R which he bought from Racing Green Cars (I still have it). There was a little Jaguar club, the 'R' Club, we used to meet up for pub lunches at Elstead Mill and had a few trips out to Brooklands, Beaulieu etc.

Huge apologies if I have the wrong person! Like I say, it's been a while since I was on here!

Anyway, getting back to my Evoque dilemma, my reason for considering PCP/lease is that I had just spent all my capital on another two houses in Manchester, then my partner's mother decided she wanted to go into a care home. Long story but basically I took out a £10k loan to pay for her house to be refurbished for renting, the repayments are £600 pcm which I'm paying using the rent from one of my properties in Hampshire. I've never borrowed any money before, no mortgages, no loans, nothing... and I don't like it!!! So, my thinking is that if I sold my 2005 RRS, I could pay of the £10k and have a deposit for the Evoque on PCP, the monthly payments are pretty much the same, so the end result is: - a) I don't owe any money, b) I'm still paying £500 - £600 pcm, c) I get a new Evoque for bombing up and down the motorway to Manchester.

Does that make sense? I just need the best deal I can get as the care home fees are killing us!!

I live in West Sussex and find I can get away with a Manchester trip once every couple of months on average, I have other cars as well so that keeps the mileage down too smile
