Mental Rangie insurance renewal premiums!

Has anyone else had this? I've just gone to renew my policy and its nearly quadrupled. 
No claims or points in the last 12m so nothing has changed my end.
The only thing I can think is that they are just uninsurable as so many are getting nicked.
Barring getting myself an old LR 90 V8, the appeal of a owning a LR (albeit newer) is slipping away. I can put up with some "character" and the "stealers" but this might just be the icing on the cake.

colonel - Good point. I think I've no option but to look at a tracker. Strikes me as a pain in the ass having one plus getting one fitted. Also a bit weird that no insurance so far has asked me for one?
jdw - Interesting your friend had similar insurance issues. My grievance is the insurance when I bought the car last year was fine. Now the price has gone mental. Issues with them disappearing in London etc were well publicised before I bought so unless the disappearances have ramped up it seems odd.

Thanks sealtt appreciate the link. Very similar scenario as you experienced down to the same insurer. Suffice to say the thieving gits at Admiral didn't get my renewal but glad you managed to get somewhere with them!
Regards the comments in that linked thread about the security update to RR I really can't see it making s huge difference to an underwriter, until they have different data in front of them on RR payouts or Land Rover step in and alter their perception of risk I think every year this issue will likely rear its head.

If your RR/RRS is registered with the JLR InControl system, logging in to the website (not the mobile phone app) you can view, download and send to your insurance broker the Thatcham cat 6 certificate.
Our recent renewal (2015 RRS with plenty of fruit) went from a crazy premium to less than it's first year...
