I'm about to order my wife a new Range Rover Sport later this month and can't help but to be drawn to the 22 inch, 5 split spoke, 504 style alloy wheels.

In my opinion (and it is only my opinion) I think they are the best looking wheels on the option list - I also think a large car needs large wheels to fill out the arches and keep the car in proportion.

However, as many of us know, 22 inch wheels firm up the ride but just how bad is it?

I've driven a demonstrator with 21 inch wheels on and felt happy with that, although I am slightly concerned about increasing size further, plus Land Rover does clearly state on the configurator the following:

"Please note if 22" wheels are fitted ride and road noise will be degraded on some coarser road surfaces"

Has anyone spec'd these?
Are you happy with them?
And has anyone found them impossible to live with and wished they'd gone for the 21 inch?

Many thanks in advance

Thanks everyone for taking the time to give your advice - I will see if I can test one fitted with 22's, although from what I can tell, very few dealers seem to spec them on their demos.

If I can't get to drive one, I probably will err on the side of caution and go 21 inch, after all, I guess it's more important for me to be comfortable on the inside, than it is for the car to look good to those on the outside.
