The Mrs has recently bought a small web business - beauty products with exclusivity from a factory plus a home built Shopify site. She is currently having the site redeveloped professionally into Wordpress and I'm keen to support her as much as I can although I know the square route of F.A. about eCommerce, therefore wanted to buy her some training / a course.

I'm thinking a course that is :-

Practical
Aimed at small enterprise on a tight marketing budget
Entry level
Delivered in a simple to understand way for beginners with no / little experience
Gives real techniques on how to attract visitors
Demonstrates how to convert visitors to customers
Basic SEO
Ad Words usage

Any ideas? Ideally based in London / Thames Valley

Cheers

Country exclusive ?
Yes, although she can sell into Europe if there is currently not a distributor there (this currently includes France & Spain)

whilst obviously based on bigcommerce ( like shopify ) their videos are a good intro:

Thanks, I guess I'm looking for something more classroom based where you can apply the techniques in real time on your actual website - in my view experiential learning is the most effective learning.

Why not license online and do other methods?
Sorry, not sure I understand what you're suggesting?

Get a experienced web master to run the retail online shop buying from you / shipping by you and have a trade link to a simpler trade sales site.
If you have a country exclusive why get involved with that one aspect when an expert will get it done faster and more effectively whilst your Mrs does the trade shows and legwork building up a retail sales channel - or is the website THE retail sales channel?
Sorry for delayed response, I've been on hols

This is a great idea but the Mrs is a stay at home Mum with both kids just going to school in Sept hence for the scale of business this isn't really an option (yet)

Anyone know these guys:-

I have his 'Easy Auction Business' course for starting a business on eBay and have to say its very good with lots of content (over 5 hours). He is also a moderator on The Wholesale Forums http://www.thewholesaleforums.co.uk/ He seems very genuine/knowledgable and always replies to any messages/posts.

The only downside like you say is his sites do look a bit 'get rich quick.' He does offer money back guarantees on his courses so if you're not happy then you havent lost anything.

Just want to add I have no affiliation to him just telling you my opinion based on what Ive experienced.
Ok, thanks for taking the time to respond. With that info, sounds like it's worth a look then
