Any Business Rates experts?

We've received demands to pay business rates on some of our building site accommodation. These are portable cabins.

Any idea if this is justified?

Just to be clear, there is no tenancy. We're a building contractor, putting up social housing on our clients' sites. This temp accommodation is our site cabins.

Programme lengths are in months, not years. The LA is Hertford.

I've never been stung for this in over 15yrs of doing the job.

We haven't appealed yet.

On what grounds would you suggest? Dispute it in its entirety or propose a different value?

These are pretty small sites, so about 9/10 months.
