Shipping from fairfax, virginia to UK

Hi,
I know there is a wealth of knowledge on shipping within the forums so I am hoping someone can help me out.
I want to purchase an old arcade machine from the US, the item is located in virginia. The buyer wont ship to the UK which I understand.
My thinking is that I could arrange a company to collect/package and ship.
Problem is I dont really know where to begin, I have done the usual googling but still unsure as to who I can trust etc.
I would normally buy from europe and actually just go and collect myself.
Any advice is most welcome.
