As usual I have a little side project/idea I want to work on but I find that doing it at home is too distracting. Its too easy for Mrs 111R to interrupt me, too easy for me to 'just do this little thing' while I remember it. I really need somewhere to take my laptop and sit quietly, without distraction but where...? I almost need a 24 hour drop in office space/centre. I need to do this in the evenings and weekends but potentially in the day too (but less likely). Ideas/suggestions?

Ah can you (Regus)? There's one half a mile away.

Buy a people carrier or cheap mini motorhome and turn it into a mobile office... you can even take the office to the beach and have a nice view whilst working.
Love it, can you get ones with wi-fi?!

You can use a 4G dongle or just use your phone and create a hotspot to connect to. 4G is fast and a dongle I had let me work in obscure places and it was inexpensive. If you're transferring massive video / audio files and the like; then you'd want normal wifi but otherwise, 4G fits the bill perfectly.

Honda, Nissan and Toyota do great 8 seater people carrier vans with swivel chairs on rails in the back; Japan import only - but I looked at one and seriously considered it as an office space. The Nissan comes with the engine from the 350z and you can get 4wd. Great vehicles and very popular in Japan. I could drive into Manchetser city centre and park up anywhere - and work away / even have a meeting... or drive to north wales; the Peak District, to completely change my environment.

Other vehicles that fit the bill are van sized / small motorhomes and race trucks. Random collection below:

I loved the idea but just didn't need another vehicle to look after. So I stuck with the boring option of working in the house.
I love the idea too but having a huge vehicle parked up in the drive is less appealing. Dongle option could still be useful.

How about a shed/office in the bottom of the garden smile
I think I need to get away from the house/home. I already have the spare room set up as an office.
