Morning all,

I was away last week, and someone kicked in one of my shop front windows. Not a problem, as we had the same about seven years ago, and had a company out to replace it, as they were good I stuck their contact sticker on the warehouse door.

So told member of staff, to find the sticker and call them - which they did. They were called last Saturday morning, the glass was replaced Tuesday afternoon this week. Can't fault the service.

But I've got the bill - £761.97 + VAT for a bit of laminated glass measuring 1908x1536mm, including fitting. This seems like double what I'd expect - I had in mind £250 for glass, £100 labour.

I don't have their invoice from 7 years ago to reference to. But before I call them, am I just out of touch, or are they chancing it?

Cheers,

Jon

No they didn't board up, wasn't required, the glass was cracked but all in tact... They came to measure sometime between the call saturday AM, and fitting it Tuesday PM, so two visits.

I had £350 + VAT in mind, so glad I'm not completely losing my marbles.

I'm not against anyone making a profit, just thought that was a bit much.
