Would prefer software that doesn't have to be installed if that's possible. Freeware would be great & very easy to use software would be super fantastico.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance smile

I've heard of that software a few times but didn't know it could do the subtitles too (thought it just ripped DVD's). Shall give it a whirl.

Thanks Melvin. Is there a way to just keep it the video file the same but with the added subs? As an output it's only giving me the option of mp4 or mkv (the original is avi). If not, what is the best route to take as this will most probably be copied onto the Playstation for viewing (mp4 or mkv).

Yes and .mp4 can only do single stream soft titles but .mkv can do multiple streams. ( in Handbrake )
Not a clue what this means or even "soft titles"?

OK. So I tried numerous times to get it working but the titles was just not appearing on the new video files. Today I tried the .mkv extension & it worked. Which is great but the old .avi file was 700mb, the new .mkv file is 420mb, the PS3 doesn't read .mkv which isn't a problem as I already have mkv2vob software installed. The file size is getting smaller and smaller so I can only assume the quality will be reducing after each conversion, is there something I'm doing wrong here?

The preview only gives me the 1st 10 seconds so there's no subs but when it's 1st played it's says the title of the subs file. I've changed any options other than the obvious one's you can see on the image.

The 'burned in' option is uncheckable. Not tried it on the PS3 yet as Win Media player isn't showing them.

Nope. It's OK though. I've muxed the mkv files on the other software and copied them over, should be more than watchable although it's still buggin me why it wouldn't work for the mp4 format.

@Melvin Udall LOL I've not got a clue what Air Brake is either. Thanks anyway though smile

@dtmpower You was right about the options, tried it with the .mp4 but still no subtitles. It could be similar case to your Taxi & be fine on the next one I use but for now I ended up using the mkv2vob software then transferring it over to the PS3, only for the PS3 not to play the video files properly. The Audio sounded fine but the picture stayed on the first frame (grrrr).

@Bollah What a hero. Worked 1st time with no problems (although not tested on the PS3 yet). Converted it to .avi (keeping it the same format) which added a couple of hundred MB & it took a while longer than Handbrake but that's no problem at all. I even downloaded the Audio software along with the Video grabbing software. Thanks.
