So I'm getting horrendous battery life and the battery stats were saying it was android OS causing it ....
I've run in safe mode all day (third party apps are blocked) and my battery life had been superb .... so it's a 3rd party app causing it... So I have uninstalled some of my apps and I will try and narrow it down

I wonder if I can get an old version or a different app...
Will post a battery usage trend later ... I downloaded the app ... Logged in and that was it ... Checked timeline a couple of times and Android OS was kept awake ... Uninstalled and the battery usage trend has tailed off again

Even after I uninstalled it it continued to drain .... So I've gone back to a factory fresh model

Gonna start installing my apps as I need them and monitor one by one rather than reinstalling them all at once and having no idea what the hell is going on
Gonna install a much better batter monitor to ...
