Hi All,

Quick question if I may related to IP address ranges/configuration.

I have the following setup (recently installed):

Virgin Superhub connected to a Netgear JFS516 unmanaged switch.

Single cable goes from the Superhub to the switch and then all devices are connected into the switch. Internet is working fine and I can see all devices, however I can't connect to the devices (eg. Virgin TV remote or Onkyo amp remote).

I've also got Sonos connected up to the network points but as soon as I remove the bridge (plugged directly into the switch) i lose the wireless connection.

FIrst thought was it was to do with IP addresses. Virgin hub (via wireless) was serving 192.xxx.xx.x addresses. and Netgear was serving 168.254.xx.x.

I've changed the virgin hub to serve the same 168.254.xx.x addresses but I still can't access any devices (Onkyo amp / tivo / sonos).

It looks like the Netgear switch is unmanaged so I can't login to it to make any changes.

Any thoughts? It's been a while since I did any networking at uni.

Phill

Sorry should have said they were the internal IP ranges. There is a separate external IP

Ah think i've sorted it. Swapped a cable into Port 1 on the switch and that seems to have sorted most of the issues.
