I'm moving at short notice to Milton Keynes. I suspect BT will take weeks to get the internet hooked up as per usual.

Is there such a thing as a 4g router/dongle which I can buy for the short term to tide me over. Are the costs mental as well?

Cheers.

EE do a 4G dongle - I use one on my laptop rather than tethering.
How much is that to run?

I have gone for the Alcatel Y800 mifi thing. Hope it works.

I went for the 2gb/have to use in 30 day deal rather than the 6gb/90 day offer.

The 6gbuse in 90 day offer is sneakily rationed at 2gb per month. This means if you want to use more than 2gb in the first month you have to top up rather than use the remaining 4gb.

Naughty I thought.
