Some Websites Really Slow , Others Normal???
Discussion
Recently I've noticed that when on the laptop, certain sites open as normal, e.g pistonheads , facebook, but other websites are very slow at loading or don't open at all , e.g Ebay or radio times, and sometimes when they do open, like Ebay for instance it seems to be on a real basic site, like Ebay may have looked 15 years ago ? Any idea what is going on here or how I can sort it , would it be the laptop at fault or the router possibly playing up ?

The basic-looking site is probably because your browser times out while it's trying to open the style sheet for the page. So without the style sheet, almost nothing is styled and it just appears in plain text form.
Can't give any suggestions why - you haven't mentioned what kind of internet link you have, what OS and browser, whether it's different on a different browser. For example I'm on XP with IE8 and a 3 mobile broadband connection and I sometimes get trouble like this. Sometimes it's because the site really doesn't like IE8 (Facebook, Google are prime examples) and sometimes it's because the mobile network is slow. In the former case if I open in Chrome it works better, but I don't like Chrome for general use.
Anyway, a bit more information on your config might bring some other suggestions.
Sorry , it's a BT router, Using Google Chrome on Windows 8 if that helps ?Can't give any suggestions why - you haven't mentioned what kind of internet link you have, what OS and browser, whether it's different on a different browser.
