battery for iphone 5

after a year my batter holds chage for about half a day on moderate use. I've watched a youtube vid and they seem relatively easy to replace and there's loads of 'genune' batteries on ebay + tools for under £10. Any one tried it/had expereince with the non standard high capacity ones?

bit of a newbie when it comes to iphones, I take it cold booted means back up via itunes then hard re boot? Apple says 1 year warranty on Iphones and nothing on batteries. It's over a year old anyway.

so it seems that if it's defective they have to replace it? I've done a factory reset will see how it goes over the next few days. Thanks all.
