laptop keeps dropping connection

All my devices drop connection but one of my laptops is a lot worse than others.I did sys restore (refresh) but no effect , i've ran scans to clean up any nasties - but still same prob.
The prob was there from day 1 - and i thought it was just an initial prob that would go away.It is under warranty and tech support lazily say i should do a format -yeah thanks mate just trash my system - very helpful.I didn't tell them it was there from Day 1 as they will use excuse "you should have told us earlier blah blah , now you made prob worse blah blah "
So is it an ISP prob(VMedia) or the laptop?
it is the only device i have running win8
Anything else i should /can do ?

Get up a command prompt and enter

ipconfig /flushdns

Successfully flushed message.See how it goes and then might try driver reninstall/update.

Is the connection wired or wireless? If the latter it could well be a channel issue where you've got neighbours using same one. It's easy enough to fix if so.

Previously in general the wireless was dropping connection and i changed channel - which helped - but this prob is particular to this laptop

Try using an ethernet cable, turn WiFi off, see if you get the same problem, that will help narrow down if the ISP is at fault or it's a WiFi issue.

Yeh good idea .I want to leave laptop ethernet cable connected whilst i away- .How do i find log report of any possible connection drops?

Tech support should be doing much more ? Where in event viewer will i find my network logs -i've opened it but can't find anything is it DNS?
