Youtube reviewer MKBHD did a short review on it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEDQ1z1-PvU

Not a final version, but seems a lot of attention towards the design, not that much real features discussed.
Some extra standard toggles (screen rotation, brightness slider, flashlight,...) but these were very easy to add before anyway.

All in all looks great, has some more color than the previous design which is nice. I get fed up with all the flat white/pastel "design" these days.

The Nexus 5 runs it like a boss apparently, which is to be expected as it's still a pretty high-end device in terms of power.

Looks evolutionary rather than revolutionary.

Quite like the look of the "Screenpin" function for children's games.
yes
Though in "profiles" you could do a lot more (ie allow a couple of games/apps).

Does seem odd that they could have added some more security to the screen pin rather than have it a small combination.

It's switched to ART so every device should run faster. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8231/a-closer-look-a...

I think you can switch on Kit Kat but you do so at your own risk as not everything is guaranteed to work.
I've had it running on the N5 for months as a daily phone and it was perfectly stable.

Anybody wants to have a pool as to when they are going to release the first bug fix version (5.0.1 or the like)?

Within two weeks? biggrin

All phone OSes work like that as far as I'm aware.
yes

Emergency dialing on any phone is a requirement a lot of markets pose for a handset to be sold in said country.

True, though our landline phones don't have nice shiny, interactive touchscreens which appear to be the proverbial candy to my kids. Maybe I will revert to a feature phone - they pay absolutely no attention to the OHs...
Didn't stop me from calling the coppers a couple of times in my day hehe

Though, the round dialer on the phone was a great toy, and 1-0-0 or 9-1-1 was very easily formed smile.

How the heck do you do a full device backup, so status of the various games isn't lost? I think my son would lynch me if he had to go back to square one ...
What games are you talking about? A lot of them can be synced through a google account these days.

Grrrr. I can't get my Moto G to stop bugging me about this update every few hours. I've disabled notifications for the MotorolaOVA service but that's not sufficient, it seems.

How do I convince it that "Maybe Later" means 'much, much, much later' and not 'ask me again in a couple of hours'?
What update? Lollipop?
Should look in the "settings" "about phone" "system updates" somewhere, there should be a mark to auto-check?
