Earlier this year our post code in ruralish Peak District was defined as 'coming soon' and that orders could be placed in 6 months. The exchange has been upgraded and some local villages are now up and running. My post code has now reverted to 'under review'. I am struggling to find out why eg are there consent issues for access or have bt decided that my post code / cabinet isn't economically viable. Just wonder how to find out the 'truth'... So far I get fact free responses.

There was something along these lines on Watchdog on Thursday about Open Reach. You can now contact Open Reach directly. The Web address is on that episode of Watchdog on iPlayer.
It's a contact for new homes only :-(

I'm in curbar. The average age is about 80 around here so I suspect it impacts the business case.
I will look at other options eg satellite but as the Ping is slow...

I've just fired an email off to broadband@derbyshire.gov.uk after much trawling to try and find where to address the email to. Might be worth you asking similar questions to get information on what's going on in your area.
Thanks, mailed :-)

I don't know about the ping but where I live many people use them, in fact the place I work has W3Z so I'll ping it when I go in this afternoon.
Thanks - with a handle like bingybongy I think its important to know about ping (pingypongy)

Thanks btw - thats a good ping. Gives me hope that curbar will be ok and maybe even better when using ethernet cables.
And btw I am not a gamer but have teenage boys and so want to ensure it meets their needs.

Thanks we get 1.8m currently. But have been as low as 16kbs! Took years of work and pain to get bt to get us up to a reliable 1.8mb!
