Hi all,

wonder if anyone can help with suggestions on this.........

Staying away during the week and using hotel wi fi with the common login page.

I'd like to be able to use the wi fi on my XBox One, but the XBox will not allow the entry of username/password details as IE will not start up until the system is actually connected to a 'net connection.

I have tried spoofing the mac address of the connected tablet or android phone as suggested by some forums, but it appears since a recent update, the xbox wont hold the new MAC address at reboot (which it forces after a change of MAC) and returns to the original setting.

My ideal would be to find a router that would enable me to logon to the hotels wi fi via a web splash screen, then share the signal either via wi fi or ethernet.

Have also been experimenting at home with using ICS on XP, but whenever I try to use this, the XBox claims that it cant access DNS?

All suggestions gratefully received!

Can you not do this using your phone? Connect the phone to the wifi then set the phone up as a wifi hot spot. Never tried this so no idea if it is possible. .. but worth a try!

Eta...looking at it on my phone I don't think it will work that way. ..sorry.
Nah, the phone only has 1 wi fi chip, so when you share wi fi that's used up, hence you can only share the 3g signal

And unfortunately 3 are obviously wise to xbox as once you try and share to the xbox
the speed drops like a stone (chances are it recognises it as a Windows device and throttles accordingly)

I haven't had much luck finding a router that will do that (well, one that is small and portable).

You can achieve it with spoofing the MAC address, but the other way round: Change the PC to be that of the Xbox?
Hi

Cheers for this - how do you change the mac via windows then?

Also, I assume it (the xbox) will then just automatically accept the wi fi signal once selected?
