Just managed to complete the collection:

Don't think I'll be bothering Antiques Roadshow just yet.

I tried some 20 year old tapes and they were fine. Haven't had a chance to try out the older ones yet - don't want to risk damaging them.

As for Ultimate:

Their early cassettes were quite modest. It's the later ones that grew the big boxes.

Many games can be played online through emulators. However, Ultimate have withheld permission for redistribution, so their games are not available online or for download. There are some remakes around, but I've not tried them.

Atic Atac was probably my favourite of the early games from them - I went back to it as an adult and played it right through and mapped it over a few days.

It turns out Tim Stamper (ex Ultimate boss) is back in the game with a mobile games company called Fortune Fish - their first title is called 'That Bouncy Thing' and is in the Android store right now.
