37 inch LED tv what to buy for Granny

My mother in law has a 32 inch 5-8 year old tv, she needs a a new TV and I was wondering what do you recommend for a granny that is 37 size? Thinking ahead I wouldn't want anything too complicated on the controls side so I don't have to keep popping around She has a box she plugs into it, I think that must be video cassette, probably betamax. Only joking.

Anything with decent sound, these tv's are getting so thin you don't get something an elderly person might be able to hear without external speakers.
