You may or may not be aware (because they've kept this rather quiet tbh) but free upgrades are now available to all who choose to opt in.

I.e., if you're on 100Mbit you get 150Mbit, if you're on 150Mbit you'll get 200Mbit.

What are you waiting for?

They did when I got 150Mb. It's not that great as it's incredibly rare to find a server that will allow you to download anywhere near that speed anyway.
The small print mentioned it wouldn't affect contract terms:

The legal stuff

There is no change to customer minimum term contracts with speed increase

I upgraded to 100 meg, I'm still getting downspeeds of sub 30 meg and upspeed of 3 meg. No different AT ALL to what I got when I was on their 50meg service.

What is going on with that?
It's not instantaneous as far as I know?

Have you got the new Superhub btw?

I did it a week ago - not sure - I have a superhub, which is total st, so its in modem mode and I use my own router. As far as I can tell not one single thing has changed since I upgraded...
Ask them for a new hub, they'll try and charge but just haggle the delivery cost down. Or complain your speed is st and you want it sorting, along with a new hub.

Ours is now active, not that I can tell on this PC as the maximum I can achieve over wireless is 90Mbit.

The previous tenant had Sky with three sky+ boxes in a number of room so there are cable feeds all over the exterior of the house. My plan to run cat5 from my office along the outside wall and into the living room (through the existing hole where the Sky feed came in) to where the router is was foiled when the Virginmedia installer had the same fking idea and used the hole for the Virgin feed and then boxed it off mad

can you even have the TV and broadband without phone line?

I think it's forced on you which is a bit of a scam. You know you won't use it, they know you won't use it but they're going to take that £17 a month off you anyway!
