Microsoft Outlook Cannot delete outgoing message

Situation
Tried sending a battch of pictures on Sunday. Thought they were jpeg ( nice small sizes) but found out ithey were bmp and the file size is over 110MB!!!

The preshingmail is stuck in my outgoing and is resisting all attempts to delete it.
Has anyone got an idea on how to get rid of the damn thing?
It just wont go!!
Message options tells me it is transmitting the message but it is now over 48hrs!
If push comes to shove, would copying all my existing messages (both in and out) except this one and exporting them to a mem stick, removing the programme completely, re installing and then re installing the saved stuff be the only way around it?
