...the Dell UltraSharp U2412M at c£200?

Have read through a few old threads here and on a couple of other fora and it's the one that gets more mentions. Sure, it's not cutting edge but its specs look like what I need and the budget appeals. Will be used mainly for image editing so I know it'll need calibrating out of the box, but so will anything.

So, the 3/4 year old U2412M or the model described by Amazon as its replacement, the U2415. Same aspect ratio, adds HDMI and only £20 more- but does the screen perform as strongly (or moreso)?

Previous screen was only 20" or so, so either of the UltraSharps are already a step up size-wise, and I can't go bigger (for space or budget).

Oh, and in case it matters, will be connected exclusively to year-old MacBook Pro Retina, presently running OS X Yosemite.

Thanks in advance for alternative suggestions or confirmation of being headed in the right direction.

Thanks all.

Fair shout on the 27", looks a cracking price but I don't want to trade IPS for a TN screen, nor lose the 16:10 aspect ratio- that one's out, on that basis.

Looks like the 2415 will be reaching my desk soon.

Cheers again.
