I used to know a bit about graphics cards a decade ago, but as the game has considerably moved on, I'm simply not up to scratch anymore.

I have an ageing socket 775 micro atx board with a Core 2 Quad 9550 and 4Gb of RAM. It currently has a 300W PSU but that'll be upgraded to a 500W one I've just purchased. I hardly ever play games on a PC but watch and stream a fair bit of 1080p content. Whilst having multiple chrome tabs open.

I need a graphics card that will fit into a SFF case, run comfortably, be compatible with Linux Mint and Win 10. However my budget is about £30. The less the better.

What do you recommend?

My motherboard (biostar g31 m7 te) has onboard graphics, so anything is an upgrade really.

I've been advised to look at the GTX 750 ti and the HD7750 if I'm considering a SFF cube case. I don't think I need anything quite that powerful but will look at the links provided.

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

To update this:

I purchased an Asus Geforce GT 710 for £25 in the end from ebuyer. It should be here next week and looks to do what I want but I'm trying to figure out if a widescreen monitor will run on this. Something like the 25/29 inch LG ones. It appears as though some say it will but there is no reference to whether it actually can.

Edit- It states HDMI 1.4 on some sites, not sure if that is a yes or no with regards to widescreen.
