boosting my parents WiFi please help on options

my parents currently live in a house with thick brick walls so wifi is not great to make matters worse they are in a non fiber area.
they currently have bt internet through a phone line and I want to use a firetv stick in the living room and currently the router is in the dinning room next door.
the fire stick currently works there but connection keeps dropping and coming and going so I think i need to boost the signal to that room some how , great i thought so i purchased a wifi extender homeplug but this did not fix it im thinking the one i purchased was to cheap
any suggestions on the ones that are easy to setup and actually work?
so what are my options people thanks in advance and kudos for any great ideas

they wont be on anything fast , I think it is adsl down the phone line so maybe 5-10 meg all I no is that the speed is fine its the signal thats causing the issue as the wifi signal fluctuates rapidly
