Which ones are you using?

I have only just started playing around with them.

Do you use yours because it has handy functionality or just because it looks funky?

Any suggestions or recomendations I should be looking at?

Phone is a Galaxy S6 edge plus if it matters.

Noob question: what's a launcher and why might I want one for my Galaxy S3?
It's the look and feel and how you can totally customise your device.

For instance you can change how many icons you can have on the screen. I'm playing with Nova now and you can have up to 12x12 you can create up to 7 on permenant dock at the bottom.

You can change the tramsition affect when swiping between screens.

You can basically totally change the look and feel.

Go on youtube and search Nova Launcher review as alot on here appear to like it but you can see what it does before installing.

I have been playing with several amd have never noticed any speed changes either better or for worse but then I never had any speed issues to start with.

No need to root just install. Plenty on the google play store.

If you want to revert back check what you have first in Settings > Applications > Application Manager > Home screen. You can uninstall any new launchers and re select your old one from here.

Only thing I wish they would introduce on Google Now is the ability to hide apps!

For example the phone icon is on main screen so why do I want it in the app drawer as well.
Only being a recent convert from Apple to Android I have never understood the app drawer. Why have 2 copies of all icons?

You don't, unlike iOS you don't have to have all your app icons on your home screens, just the ones you use most of the time. I only have 4 icons on my home screen though, two of those are folders.
I have done the same. Created folders and dropped all of them in to tidy it up. I can see the logic it just took me a while to adjust.

As the OP of this thread I am also now on Nova pro.

Never cost me anything because of google rewards.

This is a fantastic little app that asks a few questions every few days and gives you money direct in to your google play account to spend on apps/music/films etc.

It uses your location to see where you have been then asks questions based on that.

As someone who lives in hotels and restaurants through the week my location is constantly changing so get lots of questions but definately worth installing either way.

When you first install it there is a few random questions to proove you are not a robot but then the normal ones come through afterwards.

I use that, I can never find anything I want though.
Always come in handy for those free apps that have good paid upgrades.
