Web Registrar Help
Discussion
I need some help…
I have a domain thats registered with one.com.
I’ve been with one.com for years and it’s been great the whole time - no complaints. One.com deal with my domain and email accounts but I don’t actually host a website with them - that’s hosted on Squarespace and one.com redirects as appropriate.
My question is, I currently pay for hosting I don’t use (apart from email) which seems a waste. I'm also looking to transfer my email accounts to Google Apps to take advantage of some of the other features Google offer. Therefore I won't be utilising the hosting or email I pay for so I'm wasting money.
Is there a registrar out there who will hold my domains (a .com and .co.uk) allow me to point the www. to Format - my new web host - and have my emails hosted with Google Apps?
OR, am I doing this all wrong and I should be looking at a different solution?
I'm changing hosts from Squarespace to Format because I'm a photographer and Format includes client proofing online which is something I don't currently have but want to offer my clients.
My last invoice from one.com was £27.36 per domain and I pay roughly this much once a year. This included 15GB web space and the annual .com domain renewal.
Google Apps is going to be £3.30 a month, Format is £12 a month. Squarespace is currently $7 a month.
