Do not waste your money on a Macbook or cheapo Laptop!
I bought the OH a £50 Chromebook off Gumtree today and she loves it!
It's not like she's only used crap machines in the past. She is used to a Macbook Air but having broken the screen on the last one, I got her this to tide her over until I found a suitable replacement.
No need.....it has everything she wants. Speed of boot up (under 10 seconds from closed lid), Chrome Browser (obviously) and all the gestures her Macbook Air had (2 fingers back/forward/up/down), battery life 10 hours, lightweight, etc etc.
Having never used one myself, even I was impressed! It's not like I got a bargain, this is what these things go for........£50!!
