Some kind soul here advised me how to do this in Windows 8 and it worked great.

Does anyone know how to do it in Windows 10 please?

I'm on capped GB usage and it's amazing how much adverts take up these days!

I'm currently using the Microsoft Edge browser. However, having done a quick Google search I fear it is not possible to block ads in this. Booo.

Guess I will have to start using something else then....

that's Threshold 2 (last November update) and the reason you can't get extensions.

Go to settings -> update and check for updates.
I did that last week.

All this hassle, and it's only this poxy site that I have an ad issue with too. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Honestly, just use another browser. It doesn't hurt or cause any problems and it means you can block the adds easily.
I will be doing so but this is the internet speed O2 is currently providing me.

I hope you're paying almost nothing for that service - less than 2mbit and a usage cap is rubbish.
Sadly no.

It's normally 10x that and on 4G but today it's not even H+, just H most of the time. Don't know why.

I only use half a dozen websites on a regular basis and PH is the only one that causes me ad issues. For me, it severely affected the speed and enjoyment of this site.

I am on a capped usage deal and when I first blocked ads my usage immediately reduced by 4GB per month!

Do adblockers still download the data, but then not display the ad or do they see that it's an ad and block the download?
I know nothing but given my data usage reduced significantly once I blocked ads I would say they block the download.

I've gone Chrome and Adblock.

The banners at the top are gone but I can still see and ad to the right of posts.
