Laptop present.

I am looking to get my son a laptop for Christmas. Being on a tight budget I have a maximum of £150 to spend + a bit of P+P, therefore I want a good secondhand one, I have looked at HP pavilion G6 and G62 but they all seem to have different specs some have 1.9 GHZ others have 2.4 GHZ some have 1 Tb of memory others 320 GB's I'm not the best with computers, basically what I'm asking is can any of you chaps point me in the right direction to a good laptop for around this mark, windows 10 would be preferable but you can upgrade to that for free if it's on older windows can't you? Any make of laptop is OK but the better spec the better. He will be using it for school work and the like but I think he will want it fast with a bit of storage. Thank you very much in advance.
