What low profile low power consumption display adapter?

Hello!

I have one of these Acer Aspire PC's for occasional use at home.

I would like to casually play a few games, mainly 7 Days to Die, My Summer Car etc. Games like those, no AAA titles as I have a PS4.

Is there a gfx card that I could fit in that will work with the 'small' PSU?

You need to open it up and have a look to see if the mobo has a free pci-e slot or if you can replace the gtx already there. See if it has separate power or runs from the bus.

What PSU do you have?

Sorry, I didn't make it clear that it only has the onboard display adapter which is an Intel 530 I think. 7 Days runs like a pig.


There's a PCI-e slot but only a low profile card will fit.

The PSU is 220W

Thanks - I like the idea of that. However, reviews suggest it struggles to make 30fps at 1680x1050. I need something that can comfortably do 1080p at a decent fps ideally.

It is a dual slot though so won't actually physically fit as your PCIE slot is the lower one in the Acer case (looking at pics on the net - you can check though - is the long slot above or below the small white slot? )
So it looks like you may need a low profile and single slot card?

Previously I had a single slot AMD 7750 low profile that was good for gaming but I haven't seen anything from AMD on that front for awhile. As such:

Nvidia 730
or
AMD R7 240 - definitely fit
or if there is a little wiggle room:
AMD R7 250

You will low be playing at low resolutions (probably 1280x720) and low to medium details.

That makes me sad.

It's probably going to be easier to bring the Acer in to the office and use it for menial tasks, and buy a cheap gaming PC for home?
