Looks like I'm moving to Sky broadband as they offered a great deal. The only problem is that the router only has 2 ethernet ports and I really need 4.

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/networks/1404519/sk...

The article says connect an ethernet switch. Excuse my ignorance but is this just something I just buy and plug into one of the ports thus adding more ports and job done?

Also any advise on what switch to buy please?

OP go with the recommendation from poster above me and get a Gigabit switch
The Sky Q has 2 Gigabit ports it makes sense to maintain that fast connectivity.
Get the Gigabit version switches and look at how many things you will need connecting. Remember a 5 port switch will allow you to connect 5 devices but one of these will be the link back to the router. If you feel you will need to connect more than 4 devices then consider the 8 port versions. The increased outlay now is better than buying a 5 porter now and then in 6 months needing to add to it.
Good luck
That's what I wanted to know, thanks.

I need to buy by the end of this month, that's when I move from BT to Sky broadband.

Is this a good unit? Sounds daft but it looks so much better than the others.
