Looking into this for a client and they require the following:

Own domain so that they can have their own email address, not xyz@aol.com, but they have no need for a website.
I've looked on Register1.net and i think that i need domain parking, but i'm not sure.
can anyone let me know what i should be recommending to the client so that they can have the above?
thanks
dj

If they just want to forward some / all emails to another address elsewhere, then yes the Register1 free parking (default option) will do just what they need. smile

J
So with this they can obtain their own domain www.somethinghere.co.uk and then have this running on the Register1.net server and then have their a new email address setup so that they can have dave@somethinghere.co.uk and also have their old email xyz@aol.com also forwarded to dave@somethinghere.co.uk?

Not quite.

On the free system:

They have www.theirdomain.com, it either goes nowhere, or forward to their existing space (ie users.ntl.com/~ilikecare247/website)
They can also have dave@theirdomain.com (or anything@theirdomain.com) forward to their existing xyz@aol.com address.

If they want US to host their email and Website they simply need to select one of the VDS Hosting plans (from £33pa)

wink Hope this clarifies things smile

J
yep, they need to spend the £33pa. Sorry, i had a brain block and couldn't get across what i wanted.
but thanks for coming back
