Help for a computer numpty

Evening all

Basically, my Norton Anti virus subsricption has just ended, and i'm lothe the renew it if i can get something just as good for free.

So, can anybody point me in the direction of a good anti virus/firewall that i don't have to pay for, and most importantly of all is easy to setup? I'm really not good with software, and i have a habit of arsing up installations by changing the settings. I'm after something simple that will do the job with the minimum of input from me (as i'll just end up breaking it)
