I have some folders shared from my laptop to my xbox 360 through the wireless network. Folders with music and such like in.

I did this a while ago when I first got the box and I remembered selecting the folders on my computer to be shared and who could access them. It has all worked fine.

Now I've gotten a few more folders I would like to add so that I can browse and listen to them on the xbox.

I've gone to the folder I wanted and selected folder sharing, and set permissions to all users, but the new folder isn't appearing in the list of shared folders on the xbox 360s menu. The others are still there but the new ones aren't. Even though they are appearing as shared on my computer.

I'm thinking its something to do with the permissions of who can view the folders but I haven't got a clue how to alter them so they show up in the xbox 350.

Does anyone know?

Cheers.

Okay heres another question.

I've managed to select a folder on an external HDD fine, and it showed up okay and I was able to watch the videos on the xbox, but for some reason now the folder isn't showing up on the xbox.

Anyone know why this may be and how I can get it to come back?

I've tried restarting the router and everything but it doesn't seem to want to show it.

Thanks.

I can't really say why it once worked and now doesn't. However, the drive would need to be formatted with the FAT32 file system as NTFS is not supported.
To check, go into My Computer, right click the external drive and select Properties. It will say NTFS or FAT32.
If it's NTFS you will need to format it. Remember this wipes all current data from the disk!
It is NTFS, but its worked before. I don't see why that would cause it stop working as it has already worked once before with no problems.

Its not actually connected to the xbox, its shared through a wireless network as I said.
