I'm much the same, although the barge thread has brought a couple to the fore that have made me sit up and look. I even made an offer on the silver twin turbo one a while back, but I know that deep down, I'm a 126 fan.

I loved my old E34 540i.
I've noticed that some very lovely 300 SEs come up at tempting prices. No 560 if course, but a tempting proposition for the daily rush hour crawl.
