I'm replacing my 997 Carrera S as my wife is pregnant and I use her car as my tow car when I'm racing so I need to leave her with something practical when I'm away. After a bit of hunting around I settled on the C63 as it's got proper rear seats, rear wheel drive and a decent engine so I can remain entertained. Oh and I love the juxtaposition of bucket-type seats in the front of a 'practical' car. :naughty:

I'm a bit of a car nut so the C63 is going to be fettled. I'll bring the power up with a remap and maybe swap to some nicer wheels without going above 19" though as the roads in the UK will kill them.

My car is Diamond White Metallic with the 5 spoke 19" AMG wheels.
Other spec is:

Premium Package
Driving Assistance Package
Night Package
AMG Performance seats
Sports exhaust
Ash wood interior

This is the car;

Thanks for the comments.

Yes that's exactly it, Mercedes Giffnock haven't room and used it as a static demonstrator so it was parked out front.

We're in Cameron House on Loch Lomond for a few days so have been putting some miles on it. It really is a superbly well rounded car capable of being good at everything. Comfort levels are extremely high despite the AMG seats and the performance is outstanding. It sounds sublime!!

It was getting dark so phone camera was getting poorer contrast so I asked the wife to liven the pic up a bit!

Yes I think Merc just about nailed it looks-wise. I understand the coupe version will be a little more beefed up still but it wasn't going to be suitable for me as I needed 4 doors.

I never drove a 6.2 car but am very pleased with this engine. It sounds incredible, has better performance and tune-ability but is more economical. All round a great package. This car is the non-S so has 480bhp or so. However there are remaps out there that will take the power to 580 for £700. What you would need that much power for in a daily I don't know but the performance increase for the money is exceptional.

That's us home and the car cleaned.

A 340 mile round trip and despite some decent wee sections of higher speed the average consumption was exactly 30mpg as I rolled into Aberdeen. Pleased with that.

Car got its first clean from me. It's a pleasure to clean the paint work but the wheels are a bit of a pest.

I thought I'd come back to update this one a little.

The car is now on 2200 miles or so and I'm loving it. It's quick but comfortable. I don't have much cause to use the performance on a daily basis as my commute is only 3 miles each way and that will lessen in a few weeks as I move office to a location half a mile closer.

That said I have had the car out for a couple of longer runs and you can really feel the performance. It's very very 'urgent' in Sport+.

Quality-wise I've been happy but the car isn't without its issues.
It's going to the MB dealers on the 28th to have the dash removed and the various rattles diagnosed. There were a few very annoying ones!
It also has a bit of brake squeal which can be dealt with too hopefully. Finally there is a low frequency vibration when using the Bluetooth phone. It seems particularly noticeable on the spoken word as music appears not to affect it.

Anyway, after that lot is sorted I'll be very happy indeed. The car is significantly more comfortable than my 997 was and the step up in technology is noticeable.

It also sounds absolutely beastly on sport+ biggrin

Winter tyres are here in Aberdeen and ready to fit. I'll get them done when snow is on the horizon!
I'll also be changing the summer rear tyres to 285 width rather than 265. There are a few guys in the US that have done this and I feel the car needs a good bit more rubber on the rear to cope with the torque.

Thanks. It is a brilliant all rounder.

I'm getting 15mph average for a 3 mile each way commute through town. On longer runs I've seen 31mpg if on cruise and mid 20's if I'm doing the pedal control!

As it had been away at the dealers having some issues sorted I thought the car was deserving of some TLC. So, as a pre-winter prep my regular detailer came along to the house and gave the 63 the full works. 13hrs later and it's done. The pics speak for themselves;

I felt guilty pulling it out of the garage to make way for the other cars that live in there permanently.

He did the Vanquish too;
