Thanks in advance for any help.
My car has a very jerky gear change in 1st,2nd and sometimes 3rd when driven from cold.This only lasts until the car warms up and then the gear change is silky smooth. At all other times the car is perfect. At first I thought this was a peculiarity of the 7g auto box. However I've been told the gear change should be smooth from the off.
Anybody else have this problem? Also would a transfer oil and filter change be a good idea?

Thanks. It's booked in Fri but opinion is divided. I've been informed it's not necessary but then again should be done every 40K.
Anybody else any ideas?

Update: Cars been into MB main dealer and they carried out a software update and recommended not changing the oil and filter???
Got the car home still has the same issue but now does it in reverse as well. Reverse is harsh even when warm. Help anybody?

Thanks everyone. Going back in for oil and filter. They have warned me it could be the torque converter.

Right. Picked the car up today. Transmission flushed including torque converter.Oil and filter replaced and it's a vast improvement. Thanks to everyone who offered advice.

They didn't charge me for the software update,so I'm assuming it was done on a recall basis??
