C63 AMG - advice on buying/running one.

I'm looking to buy a C63 AMG, Have a budget of around 25k so looking at 2008-2010 models.
What should i look for when viewing potential purchases?
When are the major services and what should a 6-8 year old car with under 50k miles have had done?
Also how much can I expect to pay for servicing, brakes, tyres etc etc.
Any advice when it comes to buying one would be much appreciated.

Haha, do they Have that bad cred now?
I've also considered a Lexus IS-F, Supercharged XF, VXR8 or Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Didn't realise the C63 had that reputation now....but I'm 33 next week with 2 kids so can safely say I'm not one of these new breed of owners.
I love the IS-F but why did they have to have just 4 seats? The wife wants another kid next year so need 5 seats if I wanna keep the car for a few years.

An estate one would be ideal but seem to be a lot rarer and hold their money well.
What else is out there in my budget as a performance family car?

My 2 at the moment are 7 years old and 6 months old so would only need the 2 isofix when we have another.
I'm quite drawn to the XFR too...plenty of 2010/2011 examples in budget and there is a 2009 one with just 11k on the clock in autotrader.
Or there is the M3 Saloon?

Saying that I have always wanted an IS-F so I may buy one of those and just trade it in for the Merc or Jag when I need the 3 rear seats.

I've narrowed it down to the IS-F and the C63 and am viewing examples of both over the next week.
I think I'm gonna go for the Lexus and then when I have the need for 3 rear seats in a year or 2 I will swap for a C63...most probably the estate version.
That is unless the new Giulia Quadrifoglio becomes affordable by then.

Went for the IS-F in the end. Pick up a dark grey example on Wednesday from Lexus Coventry. Just sold the Giulietta QV today so am having to use the wife's 116d for the next few days.

Last poweful rwd car I had was a Sapphire Cosworth about 10yrs ago so will take some getting used to again.
