Hi chaps
I've got a suspected dead battery on my 124 (repeated clicking from the engine bay when trying to crank, even with a jump pack attached!) so I want to replace it this weekend.

I've been Googling around for an hour or so now and haven't been able to find the dimensions for the battery. I don't keep the car at home so I can't just pop out and measure it. ECP list 2 battery sizes, 027 and 019. From memory I wouldn't have thought the larger 019 size would fit in the tray, but the cranking amps on the 027 seem too low compared to OEM spec. Is it the 019 and I'm remembering the size wrong?

Thanks.

Ta. I have my Haynes manual here and found some other info online about OEM spec which tallies with that. But what I can't find is the actual dimensions of the thing...

Amazing, that's great info, thanks! I'll give Merc a call, they've been good for other parts I've needed for the car in the past.

I don't use the car much these days (as is evident from the flat battery...) so I think I'll fit a cut-off switch too.
