After years of thinking about it I am very close to purchasing a C63 AMG as it finally falls within budget (25-30k). I was initially thinking of going diesel but was inspired when a mate suddenly bought a V8 Porsche SUV. I just needed an exciting car back in my life.

Not many examples nearby within budget but I am currently looking at this one : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

Usual questions I guess in regards to maintenance costs and service intervals. Also is there anything to look out for a higher mileage car? i.e. any major costs expected at around 60k miles?

edit: Forgot to add it's definitely the saloon I'm looking for not the coupe.

Cheers all for the feedback. Sorry I missed the sticky will have a good read.

C63 is an itch I always wanted to scratch. Fortunate enough to have owned briefly the E92 M3 Comp Pack.
I was originally thinking about diesel but on the other hand life's to short and cars really do make me happy (when they don't break down wink).

I'm hoping for a facelift too and so far can't seem to find one close enough to me (Northants) and within budget.

Need to step up my search, just heard mates Cayenne S and it sounds brutal!

Should be able to cover the consumables just want something that I will look forward to on the early start and 3 hour commutes.

Okay so found this fairly local to me : http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

Low miles but looks like pre-facelift and pretty low specced? Any comments?

Thanks all. Personally I like the front end of the facelift more as well, however all the examples I've came across are over £29k which is really the top end of budget.

I've also did some research on another itch I wanted to scratch (C6 RS6 Avant) but does look like the running costs is quite costly and warranty is definitely recommended due to 2 common major faults which is costly to rectify.

Would you also recommend a warranty if I go for a facelifted car? Other than fuel and tyres are there any common faults that's costly to repair?

Regarding service intervals is it every 10k?
