Performance car on Ditchfinders ?

Do you just rule that one out of the equation ? do you mentally budget for replacing them or just live with them ?
Saw a 996 turbo (how expensive have they got !) on "LandSail" tyres the other day in the classified, am looking at CLS 55's and thing popped up,

Nankangs (admittedly nice and shiny...) and getting on for 500 bhp, would it actually move in the wet ?
There is a special place in hell for those who put £50 tyres on a car like that ! or am I being over critical ? replacing the rubbish tyres would add £700 or so to the cost of the car, my 350Z came with 4 brand new "Jinyu" tyres, they did the job but wish I had the chance to try it on the proper Bridgestones or something ?
