Anyone have any 'inside' info on the Alfa 4C?
Discussion
So, I have put a deposit down on the 4C a few weeks ago but even the dealer was very sketchy on detail.
Can anyone in the know shed any light? This is what I have been told:-
Not sure whether will be RHD, could just be LHD
He reckoned there would be around 150 per year into the UK from 1500 total being made which should help residuals
250bhp from the 1.75 Turbo (perhaps they should wait for the new 300bhp 1.8bhp engine currently under development for the USA market)
They are allocating them based on a system only known to Alfa but having a 'decent' car now and having owned Alfas before all helps (apparently). The dealer took this information to fax to the factory.
Cost will be circa £45k
Delivery is Q4 2012 (which I suspect means Q1 2013 but I hope to be proved wrong on that)
That's it......anyone know any more?

[quote=OperationAlfa]Dealers are taking deposits but this has not been authorised by Alfa UK or Italy, /quote]
Are you sure about that? If so, why did he take a load of detail about what cars I own / Alfas I have previously owned to 'fax through' to Alfa
Obviously he could be bullstting but he has no need as I was going to give him my cash no matter.

I'm thinking the same,is there any plans for the 4C to be shown at a motorshow/dealer in 2012?
Obviously you have just missed the Frankfurt show in September with the liquid metal (wrapped?) 4C.I suspect that 2012 will be about the US market as Alfa are relauncing there, so if anything I guess that it will need a trip to the States.

Been following it myself as a possible Elise replacement. I would say the 300bhp is heading for the car as Dallara missed their weight limit on the xbow and needed more power !

<<Alfa Romeo has announced a new turbocharged 1.8-litre engine producing 296bhp. Rumours are it is destined for the 4C.
The new engine will be built at the Pratola Serra plant in Italy starting in 2013 giving rise to the rumour the 4C will be delayed until 2013.
The 1.8-litre turbo is also likely to see action in the SUV due in 2014 along side the 159 replacement.
The new engine meets the ultra strict "Euro 6" pollution regulations.>>
Reading the articles on that site it is looking more and more like 2013 too.
I cannot see it being cancelled - Alfa are after a halo car for the US relaunch. Though a MX5 rivalling Spider seems likely too (on a shortened Challenger platform).
Alfa seem very serious on the US market....

Not sure my 1990 Alfa 33 will get me to the top of the list though
I also heard the 296bhp was going into the 4C but they were holding back for the US market, ie the UK cars would not have this engine (due to 2012 delivery)http://www.alfa4c.co.uk/article/alfa-romeo-press-r...

However, I think (and hope) that you are right as it's worth waiting until 2013 to get 296bhp in a 850kg vehicle!

- weak smile* - I know , hence my earlier posts and their tone
Maybe time to get my grand back from the dealer
2 year wait
Nobody knows how many are being imported into the UK
Nobody knows how they are being allocated
May as well have the grand in my account and buy one for a premium if / when they arrive in the UK
By 2014 I'll be lusting afer something else
Having put the 'deposit' down a couple of years ago then getting my money back in frustration, I'm watching this with interest.
Quite honestly I'd now rather wait to see if the 300 bhp Stradale comes out as that would be the one to get in my opinion.
It is a very sexy car so I hope thay do it properly and don't cut corners.

Well I would assume the starting point would be to talk in person to your preferred Alfa Romeo dealer. For example I would talk to the chaps at SGT because I know them. So as I say it depends on where you live who you want to deal with.
I got a letter a month or so ago from SGT saying that they'd closed down as they sold the site for development. Apparently the Alfa sales have been taken over by Fiat in SloughGassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
