Alfa 156 - 2.5 V6 vs 2.4 JTD

Hi there, despite now being on my 3rd 156 this is my first appearance in this forum! I've owed a 1998 2.5 V6 for about 10 years & have had nothing but trouble. My love for Alfa's however has not wained & so with winter upon us & an impending respray on my TVR, what more of excuse did I need?!

So I've just got myself a 2002 2.4 JTD at a bargain price & am over the moon with it. My question is, does anyone know if there is a list of parts that are interchangeable between the 2?? My V6 has too many faults to justify spending the money to get it sorted out, but if I'm to finally say goodbye to it I'd like to remove bits for spares, if possible that is.

At the moment the temp gauge in the diesel isn't working properly. I'm assuming this is a thermostat issue, so if that's the case will the stat from the V6 fit on the diesel??

Well turns out the stats aren't compatible so I've ordered a new one. Managed to find one for £21! Doesn't seem bad. Tried to swap the window buttons & housing over as well but even they were bloody different!! Just wondering now which bits to keep as spares before I get rid of the V6... Lights etc perhaps?

I don't think there's a damn thing in the engine bay other than electricals that are common between V6 and 2.4 JTD. Ask over on alfaowner.com though - much more knowledge there.
